What's wrong with drinking and driving if you are responsible

while I understand what u r trying to say, I think u fail to realize that while a few people may only consume one alcoholic beverage when they r in the car, many will use the law to their advantage & drink more than one drink, tossing the empty ones out the window when finished. Drinking & driving is disgusting, destructive, & no RESPONSIBLE person gets behind the wheel with even one drink in their system. Just because a certain amount of alcohol in the system is considered legal by the law, does not mean it is smart. I'd rather get in a car with someone behind the wheel who has had nothing to drink. And how would the law determine who these ''responsible'' individuals would be that would get the privilege of having an open container of alcohol in their car? How r we going to know ''they r not hurting anyone'' until it is too late.

I don;t want to be on the road with you. take your choice- either drive and do not drink or drink and do not drive.

my friend we are talking about concentration.we have one brain.how can you be doing two things at a time.ok you might be a professional mobile drunk {am not trying to be rude}.what of others ,they might not be professionals like you.that is why drinking while driving will always be a crime all over the world.

you obviously need to attend AA meetings.even one drink is to much.to drive..just the fact that you need to drink shows immaturity and irresponsable behaviour.this is exactly why we as a society have chosen to punish drunk drivers.one is too many.but to you one is never enough..

If u have to ask, after seeing all the carnage caused by damn drunks on the roads, u r a sad case. By the way, nobody can blow under the legal limit after 3 drinks unless that is spread over several hours. 20% percent of traffic fatalities r caused by drunk drivers, every one of whom thought they were fine to drive. That is you! Every one of them is you!

You do not get it. The person behind the wheel with alcohol in hand is the least qualified person to judge whether he is sober or not. You claim to be educated, but u do not show it.

As first effect of alcohol on your brain,you loose your sense of speed. Secondly your reaction timing is impaired. If you DUI , you are certainly not responsible to the society.

this is one of the reasons that many states have changes their laws from DWI(driving while intoxicated) to DUI(driving under the influence). u can have a legal blood alcohol level, & still be impaired in ur driving. this is one fo the reasons that cops have field sobriety tests, as well as a BAC test. dont be fooled into thinking that u can drink & drive responsibly. alcohol lowers ur inhibitions, & u tend to take chances u would not otherwise take. this also applies to some medications that u might be taking as well.

none of it is fair to the innocent children or other people on the road that have the good sense to know that alcohol has no place on the road in the first place. there is no such thing as being responsible and being on the road drinking. alcohol affects your judgement as well as reflecks. it should be illegal to have even one drop of it in you while driving. good luck and best wishes.

Well obviously drinking WHILE driving is a distraction like talking on the mobile phone. And what does responible mean to you? if you kill someone its ok as long as you accept responsibility for your actions? It does not matter about yourself, if you want to put yourself at risk thats fine but youre also putting others at risk and that is NOT fine. Ca not you wait til you get home? why would you want to drink WHILE driving anyway?

driving is not the place 2 consume alcohol.it impairs your judgement and your reaction time.

How is the law supposed to determine your responsibility level and what you will do in the future? It can not, and that is why we have laws that apply to everyone.

'Drinking and Driving' and 'responsible' do not belong in the same sentence.

If u drink & drive u r not responsible, end of story, nothing further need be said.

But anyway, if u r driving u should be concentrating on the road, not on ur mobile phone conversation or ur big mac or ur drink. Eating while driving has been shown to reduce concentration & increase risks of traffic accidents & so has drinking even non-alcoholic beverages while driving so u should not be even drinking water while ur car is moving with u in control.

Any stupidity in the law could be fixed by requiring all drivers to have a zero Blood Alcohol Concentration at all times while driving a vehicle.

having the words ''drinking and driving'' and ''responsible'' in the same sentence is a contradiction.
